COMMUNICATION IDEA!

Hello all, I have had some ideas about in-game chatting while we are playing Unreal Tournament. I was thinking instead of typing in-game on the server maybe we could start up a TeamSpeak/Ventrilo server (either one I don't mind). This would allow us to communicate with each other easier and also get to know each of us a bit better. If anyone is willing to set up a TeamSpeak or Ventrilo server for the clan then we would be so thankful.

What is TeamSpeak and Ventrilo?

TeamSpeak and Ventrilo are two brilliant softwares that enables gamers from around the world to talk to each other via microphone, so instead of typing you can easily press one key and talk through your microphone.

Personally, I have no clue in setting a Ventrilo/TeamSpeak server. If anyone knows and is willing to set one up. That would be awesome.

hey again esKo, unfortunately i cannot host voice kind of server. i do not have the needed bandwidth to run this server. also need the "eternal" static ip...
there is a mod for ut game, wich enables voice comm. but the result is increased ping and droped frames, ut servers runs shitty
if anyone else can host it i would help with knowledge if any...

why not just use skype or any other type of VoIM? it doesn't take much of system resources as well as it doesn't influence the game itself. MMORPG players have been using it for a long time.

I heard Skype comes very dodgy when it comes to gaming.

But also, can you have group chats because I thought it was just 1 on 1 conversations?

Anyways, anyone else have any ideas?

We could share ID's and get in a conference room. There , we can use our mics and talk while we play. It shouldent affect the game (if you have a good computer I mean).
