CTF GAMES?

How do we feel about playing CTF?

I think playing CTF will help all of us be better team players. Any ideas?

mmmm.....i don't like too much ctf....i'll prefer last man standing!

IMHO, LMS is boring and stimulates camping, saving one's life.

I wonder why nobody plays domination on the internet. As for me, it's the most "meaty" type of game, besides, it develops good teamwork. If I only knew how to launch my own multiplayer game into the server list (like i saw several other people doing it), I would certianly try to play DOM.

well CG this is not a problem, if ppl want to play DOM or AS i'm in. i like DOM and AS the same. we can have a server up and running in 5 minutes and i think we should have them running even if we play rarely on it. it looks good on the internet having many servers.
any other opinion?

See, Ara, playing DOM or AS on sniper rifles is not as good as it is on traditional weapons, where you can rip to shreds with flak cannon What I actually asked was how to make my own multiplayer game visible on the general server list and if anyone except me was interested in that types of games.

Concerning UC servers, we already have everything needed, TDM, DM and CTF is more than enough, IMHO.

well CG, let's see. if i understand you want to have an ut server listed on the ut internet games. in order to have ut games listed you have to meet some requirements. first a license of ut game or a really good cracked one in order to not be detected by epic games that you are using a cracked game and/or a fake serial nr. second you must start a real dedicated game server, not the one from the game menu but a command promt one. third you must register to at least 2 tracker servers who will list your game. and if your ip is chaging you will have the same situation as i have, your server will be listed only from time to time. your game server MUST be running all the time 24/7. if not, you will not be listed. i am using a trick so a dns server will resolve my ip address everytime is changing. that's why we use unreal://xor.... instead of ip addresses. of course every time your ip changes you can change your server name and port but than ppl will get nervous finding your game.
we can also host a regular DOM server for fun but our sniper skills will decrease.
ppl what do you think about? want to have a regular DOM fun server?

anyway, to be on topic, i personaly like CTF more than DM or TDM. this game have something...
in CTF ppl don't have time to camp, gotta mooooove!!! and i like that. i'm not a camper, i like action.
i think CTF can help us a LOT!!! anybody can shoot while camped...
see for yourself the today's game CTF-Command at 21:26:35 . it speaks for itself. a 25 minutes game (extended with 10 minutes because of tie score). i have never-ever played like today!!! my skills have improved a little
by the way, nice game we had today on CTF, thanks Aq, WeDmeD, CG and S.E.T
conclusion: CTF is the training we need

OMG, I have never thought that launching a server is so difficult. I asked about it because I came by one guy's private server and talked to him a bit. He said that he just started an ordinary multiplayer game over the internet and that was it Now I'm not really sure he was telling the truth.

BTW we had a really nice CTF match yesterday, so thrilling

Thinking of the Assault idea, could we possibly change the DeathMatch Server to an Assault Server (This server I mean: unreal://xor.endofinternet.net:7100).

The reason is a lot of people like Assault but I don't really see the point in having a clan DM server when we have a TDM server which is basically the same but on teams.

If you agree for changing game types, it would be the best way to;

1. Keep Sniper Arena Mod On (So it's still UC fighting style ).
2. Normal jump (basically we jump normally, not non-gravity).

Well, that's basically it. The reason is that I have played Assault many times and I think it's more fun than just TDM or CTF because you have good team tactics and you have to have good team work which will help us to succeed in future games.

yes, it is a good ideea, in fact i wanted for a long time to have set all UT games on our server. i know it would be ok to change the DM server to AS but i want to do something more. i will leave the server unchanged and create new servers. i want to have listed all possible UT servers so ppl see we have them all. right now we have DM TDM CTF and a PURE/EUT SMART CTF server for fun. i will build a AS and DOM server and also 1 DM, 1 TDM and 1 CTF server with 1 fixed map. this new computer i have for server can run all these servers and i want to attract ppl by seeing the games listed on the internet. some of the servers will be public and some of them will be private, just for us. when everything is set i will post the servers address. don't forget that everybody can see now on the stats page if somebody are playing on one of the servers. this is very useful.

PURE is a server side protection against cheat and also contain the valhala avatar, zeroping and many other things. EUT stand for Enhanced UT and is used in team games like CTF because of the enhancements on the hud, scoreboard, F1 and F2 screens, announcements etc. check the fun CTF server on port 7400.
today i hope i'll have all servers finished.
